Term Definition
Feedhorn
A horn-shaped antenna used in a radio telescope to convert radio energy into electrical signals, which then go to a receiver. The size of the horn has to match the wavelength of the radio signal it is designed for. Thus, a radio telescope capable of operating at several different wavelengths will require a set of feedhorns.
