Term Definition
Field Of View
The angular extent of the image formed by an optical instrument, such as a telescope. The field of view of a telescope becomes smaller the greater the magnification employed. Where an application requires a particularly wide field of view e.g. for comet hunting or for sky survey photography a special design of eyepiece or telescope is required.
