Heliographic Latitude	Angular distance on the Sun's surface north (positive) or south (negative) of the Sun's equator. The solar equator, which intersects the ecliptic at an angle of 7° 15', changes its apparent location on the solar disc as the Earth orbits the Sun. Tables are published in handbooks for observers giving the heliographic latitude of the centre of the Sun's disc, from which other latitudes may be calculated.
