Hope for Life on Mars Decreases

A computer model that was created at the Universitaire Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris shows that the strong plumes of methane that were discovered on Mars earlier in 2009 break down very quickly.

If the breakdown of the methane gas were caused by chemical reactions on Mars's surface, then the environment on Mars would be too hostile for life to develop.
