A new space transport system which will bring humans to and from the moon by 2020, is being developed by NASA and Lockheed Martin, as part of the billion-dollar Constellation program.

The Constellation Program will also resupply the International Space Station and eventually bring people to Mars. It will use The Orion vehicle, which contains life support systems, a pressurised capsule and a propulsion engine.

Much of the Constellation program is based on the already-proven technological successes of the Apollo program. However, many of the systems and components are being designed with updated technology.
