On July 8, 2005, NASA issued a formal request for expressions of interest by non-NASA organizations for use of the Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF) at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Commercial space companies were among those organizations invited to show interest. NASAs use of the SLF to support the Space Shuttle Program and other agency activities has precedence over other prospective users interests. NASA wishes to accommodate conditional access by additional users. Organizations have until August 30, 2005 to respond.
