A team of Researchers at the National Synchrotron Radiation Center in Taiwan, led by Dr. Yong Q. Cai, have found evidence that suggests the existence of a new phase of ice. Ice would exist in this phase at temperatures close to absolute zero, between 4 and 50 degrees Kelvin, under high pressure. The researchers made this discovery while studying the ordering of hydrogen bonds in water at extremely low temperatures and under high pressure.
