John H. Debes of Pennsylvania State University and his colleagues believe that they may have found planets orbiting two white dwarfs. If the objects they have found are planets, they have between 5 and 12 Jupiter masses.
In May 2004, astronomers reported that they might have found a planet circling a white dwarf; follow-up observations showed that the object they had found was stationery.
