The launch of Venus Express, Europe’s first mission to Venus, has been postponed. The European Space Agency (Esa) claims that the delay was caused by the discovery that insulation from the rocket launcher had contaminated the Venus Express spacecraft. The mission was scheduled to launch next Wednesday. Esa has said that the launch will be delayed by “several days”, but has not announced a new launch date.
